Dr. Steve Stone has served as pastor to United Methodist Churches in Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee for over 35 years. In 1997 he became the founder of Heartsong Church in Cordova, Tennessee where he still serves. He has served as the hairperson of Religion and Race, and Church and Society
for the Memphis Annual Conference, and has led workshops in
church planting and 21st Century church formation.
Dr. Stone received a BSE from the University of Memphis, a
Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory
University in Atlanta, GA, a Doctor of Ministry in Evangelism from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX., and has also studied at the
University of Tennessee, Martin and Memphis Theological
Seminary.
Steve and his wife Mary have four grown children and seven
grandchildren. Rev. Mary Stone is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church with a Master of Social Work from the University of Tennessee, Memphis, and a Master of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary. Mary works for the
Shelby County School system finding spiritual, emotional
and physical resources for families in need.
